As we stand on our garden facing to the rear fence, the Council properties to the left and the rear of our garden have overgrown trees preventing us from enjoying the sunlight, especially in this crucial time of the year. Being vitamin D deficient, it is important for us to have as much access to the sunlight, which I had mentioned on my email about 4 weeks ago, which I am still waiting a response or actions for. I had verbally asked a lady in the Council to look into the matter, who had assured to have someone involved in it, but to my disappointment, nothing has yet happened. While I appreciate that the Council may be understaffed at this time, I would ask for someone to please take this issue up and resolve it as soon as possible while keeping me informed and assured. Thank you. AN

Dear Resident Number 50 is a privately owned property and therefore RBG does not have any jurisdiction with regards forceing owners to undertake pruning or removal works. If the trees are dead then the Planning Department can utilise the Miscellaneous Provision Act, however they have to be visibly dead or dangerous. You are within your rights to prune back any overhanging branches.
