Litter in the street
Reported via mobile in the Street cleaning category anonymously at 06:38, Tue 29 June 2021 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to West Oxfordshire District Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2825462.
Given it’s historical importance there seems to be little if any street cleaning undertaken. Mechanical cleaners are hopeless because of the density of parking. Could you please send a manual street sweeper say once a month to tidy up? Thanks!

There are two issues which continue to give us great concern on West End: - the dilapidated condition of the large vine covered property at 26, West End, which is an eyesore and an embarrassment for a conservation area about which the council has been frequently informed without an adequate response. - road and pavement street cleaning has been neglected during the covid crisis and continues to be unacceptable. A street cleaner should be tasked to clean between parked vehicles in order to mitigate problems arising from blocked drains.

Totally support this point and have posted on this subject previously without any apparent response from the Council.

Several times I have reported that the street needs cleaning, the street lights need servicing plus the owner of the abandoned house should be compelled to tidy it up. The street is of historical importance (as stated by the council!), hence the listed status of many of the houses. BUT what is the council doing to make the most of this? I haven’t seen a single street cleaner in the last 8 months, I’ve been reporting a street light as being out of action for 8 months and despite promises nothing has been done. Does anyone at the council even look at Fix My Street. It appears not.
