Broad Oak Lane frequently floods very badly.I believe that the cause is a blocked surface water drain in the highway. I should be grateful if you would investigate.

  • I do not believe that the drain has been unblocked. Could you please check your records. If it has not been unblocked, it will certainly cause further flooding as it has done several times in recent years. Do you need a photograph? Please note that the drain is in Broad Oak Lane (and not at the location indicated on the map). Its about 200 yds from the A287 roundabout. Thank you Philip Riley

  • I am not aware that the work has been done. There has not been sufficient heavy rain recently so its not been possible to check but i strongly suspect that the flooding will recur 9as it has done several times) if the drains are not propely cleared. Do your records show that remedial work has been carried out?

  • The road floods after heavy rain but, as we are experiencinbg drought conditions at the moment, its not been possible to check whether there is still a flooding problem. If you have not taken any action to clear the road drains, flooding will almost certainly recur. Can you please let me know whether any work has been done to address the problem? Thank you Philip Riley

  • I am not aware that any remedial work has been done. Can you please let me know whether any action was taken after my original report? If not I will only be able to check whether the problem has been solved when we get the next period of heavy rain. Thank you Philip Riley

  • I have asked you whether you have investigated the problem and taken any remedial action. As we have not experienced prolonged heavy rain recently, Broad Oak Lane has not flooded. However, I would expect a repeat of the flooding if action has not been taken. Could you please inform me what you have done following my report? Thank you Philip Riley

  • I have asked you on several occasions whether you have checked the road drain and cleared it but you have not responded. We have had dry weather recently so the road has not flooded. However, if youy have not cleared the drain, the road will flood again when it rains as the water has no route to the adjoining ditvhes. Best wishes Philip Riley

  • I keep on asking you the same question which you have not answered. If the drain has not been cleared out, the road will flood again when we have heavy rain. Can you please tell me whether you have taken any action to clear the drain? Thank you Philip Riley

  • I hsave repeatedly asked you to investigate the flooding in Broad Oak Lane but the only action you appear to take is to send me a questionaire. I do not want a questionaire - I would like your respose to my complaint. The heavy rain overnight has resulted in further flooding across the lane. Do you want another photograph. I don't think I can be more explicit than I have been. If you send me another questionaire (rather than addressing ther problem) I will ask my HCC councillr to intervene as he asked me to contact you in the first place. Thank you Philip Riley
