Many blocked gullies on both sides of the road

Reported via desktop in the Highway Drainage category anonymously at 12:36, Thursday 24 June 2021

Sent to West Berkshire Council 5 minutes later

On the section of the A329 between Townsend Road and Streatley Farm are blocked so when it rains the water is not draining away and causing a river in the road. There were some concrete run-offs installed several years ago on the east side of the road but as they have never been cleared despite the being close to the gullies that have been cleared they are no longer effective. The council don't seem to understand that routine maintenance must be undertaken otherwise spending money on infrastructure becomes a waste of money - or is the government.

Updates

  • Despite the verges being cut on this section of road to the south in Streatley down to Townsend Road and to the north at the county boundary this section has not been done so the grass is still over the road and the drains are still blocked.
