Missing 10T weight limit sign
Reported via mobile in the Road Traffic Signs category by Tom Crispin at 20:50, Wed 23 June 2021
Sent to Lewisham Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2814083.
There is a 10T weight limit on the Winn Road bridge over the River Quaggy. There are three approach roads to the bridge. One is in Bromley and the sign is in place - see photo. The second road is a Bromley/Greenwich boundary road and Greenwich is the highway authority - the sign is absent, reported to Greenwich. The third road is a Lewisham/Greenwich boundary road and Lewisham is the highway authority. The sign needs to be placed on the Greenwich side of the road, but as Lewisham is the highway authority it seems appropriate to report the missing sign to Lewisham. The weak bridge itself is the responsibility of Bromley. If the weight restriction sign is the responsibility of Bromley please advise rather than dismiss this report. It is very confusing as the bridge is Bromley’s responsibility but the sign needs placing the Greenwich side of the tripoint boundary, and Lewisham is the Highway authority for the road.
So rather than dismiss this report, please liaise with your counterparts in Bromley and Greenwich and work out whose responsibility the sign is.
