Rather than link the crossing lights to phase with the flow along Burgess road by stopping traffic when the lights allow traffic to cross between Violet Road and Broadlands Road, and keep the flow moving when traffic is flowing along Burgess Road the crossing lights stop the flow when Burgess Road flow at the junction is go, thus increasing local pollution from vehicle brakes and exhausts totally unnecessarily.
