Bins left on pavement

Reported via desktop in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 15:06, Wednesday 23 June 2021

Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich less than a minute later

Ongoing problem especially between 38 and 48. Also at 64. Bins never get taken in and its very difficult to get even a baby buggy through without walking in road. Dangerous.

  • Some bins have been taken in but those outside 38-40 remain. There are about 8 bins clearly marked as belonging to 38-40 along with bags of rubbish and general litter. No one is taking responsibility. How long before the rats arrive?

  • Does anyone from the council ever read these reports? The bins stay there week after week and customer service is non-existent.

  • Still no action from Greenwich Council although leaving bins out and obstructing pavement are supposed to be enviro-crimes. The bins have bags and boxes dumped beside them, the foxes rip them open and strew food waste around and the whole business is disgusting. What's the betting that when the rats arrive people will be told it's not the council's responsibility to deal?

  • Seen a rodent in one of the overflowing bins outside 46 this morning and chased it away. This is a health hazard but Greenwich Council doesn't give a flying one.

  • Still a smelly mess. Does anyone at Greenwich Council care?
