Safety concerns/cars mounting pavements

Reported via iOS in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 10:33, Wed 23 June 2021

Sent to West Sussex County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2812380.

At peak times (school drop off/pick up) Parents are having to stand on the curb side to prevent motorists from mounting the pavement at the lower gate of Warden park primary academy. This access way is dual purpose and has a marked walkway as well as gates for car park access however due to the volume of traffic and irresponsible parking many cars mount the pavement in order to pass oncoming vehicles, this is going to result in a pedestrian being hurt. I understand that vehicle access is required especially emergency vehicle access to the school however it needs a retractable/movable barrier such as posts to protect students entering and exiting the school gate. Traffic wardens would also be helpful.
