WRONG (new) road sign has been installed

Reported via desktop in the Sign issue (NH) category anonymously at 20:02, Mon 21 June 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later

NEW M27 4 lane 'safe motorway' scheme: on the WEST bound exit actually AT JUNCTION 5; the sign for AIRPORT has NO LANE INDICATION (the proceeding signs do) -this is very bad as the lanes also change at this point and it will be VERY easy to (stay) in the Wrong lane and continue along the M27/ M3 and a VERY long turn around.

  • The sign to exit this junction can easily be misinterpreted. The sign implied that this exit only catered for traffic going towards Southampton and that another exit further on would cater for the Eastleigh/Airport (Northbound) traffic. However the next Junction is the M27/M3 turn off and resulting error created a much longer diversion. The Junction 5 turn off still caters for both Southampton (Southbound) and Eastleigh/Airport (Northbound) traffic.
