  • I am a dog walker who uses the car park at Horspath Athletics Ground as an access point to Shotover. I park diagonally opposite the entrance, at the far end of the carpark. There is a single rubbish bin and a dog waste bin. Frequently, that single bin is overflowing for many days, especially after the weekend, and litter blows into the hedges around the car park, into the field and the hedges beyond. When the bin is emptied, attempts are made to collect what has been scattered, but much is left, which then gets chopped into ever smaller pieces when the grass is cut. There is a problem with people littering anyway at that site, but it is not helped by having a bin that people cannot use and litter also spread everywhere, as it encourages people not to care or make the effort to responsibly dispose of their own rubbish. Please will you install a second bin next to the first and also ensure prompt emptying, ideally on a Monday morning immediately after weekend events? Also, once those things are in place, a thorough litter pick of the hedgerows and field would help to discourage others from littering in future. Finally, some inconsiderate ****** has dumped a bed base at the entrance to the overflow car park. Thank you for your help!
