Dangerous Road Surface

Reported in the Roads/highways category by Steve Nelson at 06:33, Sat 22 September 2012

Sent to Lancashire County Council 2 minutes later

On West side of roundabout at junction of Portway/Channel Way/Mariners Way (i.e. facing the entrance from Mariners Way), in lane next to roundabout itself, I have twice experienced the rear end of my car breaking away whilst making right turn from Channel Way onto Portway. This happens whilst cornering quite slowly. On 21/09/2012 I was executing the right turn (using lane away from roundabout!). A Nissan Micra was also turning right but using the lane next to roundabout and next to my offside. The back end of the Micra broke away suddenly whilst cornering and the car turned through almost 90 degrees, ending up with its front end facing the centre of the roundabout. There was no question of excessive speed and the road surface seems to be the cause of this and my previous experiences.
