Lack of parking spaces causing huge problems!

Reported via mobile anonymously at 07:44, Tue 15 June 2021

Sent to East Hertfordshire District Council and Hertfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2792303.

Dane End have various streets that are part of the main bus route in and out of the village. Founceley Avenue is one street on this main bus route but the lack of adequate parking areas is causing huge problems. The road is wide enough to fit one car on one side of the road, in order for a bus to pass safely. Because of this, people park on grass verges, damaging trees and mangling up the grass areas, causing huge muddy messes. When parked on verges this causes a smaller width for the buses to get by. If a bus struggles, then a fire engine would definitely struggle. Alot of people along Founceley Avenue are disabled and/or elderly. They rely on the bus service and those who own cars cannot park outside their homes due to this lack of parking space.

Updates

  • Nothing has been done. Still the buses struggle sometimes to get down the roads on the main route in and out of the village. Cars are parking on grass verges, turning them into muddy messes!
