Double yellow lines missing Kelvinside Tce South

Reported via desktop in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 16:39, Sun 13 June 2021

Sent to Glasgow City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2788661.

Scottish Water carried out extensive sewage repair in Kelvinside Terrace South late last year and had to do re-surfacing of the road as a result. While they replaced the double yellow lines on the inside of the raod they did not replace the double yellow lines on the outside of the curve at the top of the road as it joins Kelvinside Tce West. The photos show both where the new painting was done and the curve where there are some fragments of the old lines which have now most disappeared due to the re-surfacing. These lines at the top section prevent cars from parking on the curve itself. That is important so that large vehicles can navigate the curve. If cars park there, they would prevent an ambualnce or fire engine from getting into the street this creating a real hazard. i reported this several times to Scottish water and their latest response is that the lines were "worn" before they started work and replacing them should be dealt with by the road department. i am therefore now reporting it to you as occasionally cars do park there and I am worried about that remaining the case.

  • The street lights at the junction of Queen Margaret Road/ Kelinside Terrace South are out of action. This is a very busy turning junction and very dark at night.
