Dangerously defective pavements in Orchard Way CV239HP

Reported via desktop anonymously at 20:57, Thu 10 June 2021

Sent to Rugby Borough Council and Warwickshire County Council less than a minute later

This is the third year I have reported this problem. The pavements in Orchard Way are now dangerously defective with an increased risk of slips, trips and falls to residents that include the elderly, young children and people with reduced mobility. My elderly neighbour will no longer walk to the village centre and my wife (who is currently walking with crutches) are fearful of falling. To my knowledge 2 elderly residents and 2 children have had Falls, including my granddaughter. Warwickshire County Council could be liable for any injuries sustained. We have lived in the cul de sac for 36 years and do not recall any resurfacing of the pavements in that time (except where the refuse lorry mounted and damaged a kerb, which is broken again). Over the past few years there have been a number of houses refurbished and delivery lorries, vans, and cars regularly mount or park on the pavements causing further damage to the. The street requires a full survey and resurfacing. PS Today, Traffix Surfacing patched 3 BT manholes but very poorly and left debris on the pavement and road. As I can only input 3 pictures, I am making multiple reports in the hope that THIS time some action will be taken.

  • Of course it’s not fixed, we’re in Rugby BC area, not Kenilworth, Warwick or Stratford.
