Back fence of my property
Reported via desktop in the Parks and Greenspace category by Roger Whinray at 11:08, Sat 29 May 2021 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2756421.
My name is Roger Whinray and my property backs on to Hoblingwell Wood, due to the lack of maintenance by Bromley Council the laurel trees and other bushes and weeds have stopped me from being able to maintain my back fence. When this fence was erected by my son,it was purposely built 1 metre inside my boundaries. I have contacted the council on a number of occasions and they send someone down to spray the weeds and Japanese Knotweed. The situation is now out of control and I implore the council to do something about it,there is even a sycamore tree growing against the fence.if something is not done immediately this will end up becoming very expensive. My wife has just come out of hospital following a cancer operation and I have had a heart valve replacement and an aortic stent, we are both in our seventies and don’t need this stress.we pay our council tax on time and need something done about this.I live at 15 Thorndon Close and contact number is 07810 744499.

Dear Sir, as stated above in your original report the boundary fence was moved 1m into your boundary, therefore officially we would be working on your land not LBB’s. I believe over the last 2-3 years this has been explained to yourself and that it legally is still your land so we are not covered by insurance.
We are responsible for treating the knotweed, this has been treated previously over the last 2-3 years and will be treated again in the coming weeks.
