It’s that time of year again when turning right and left out of Union Way is lethal. Because of the lime trees that need trimming at their base least twice a year and the growing girth of the trees it is very dangerous entering Tower Hill. What the residents of Union Way need is a large (100cm+) convex mirror placed opposite Union Way to be able to see traffic up and down Tower Hill which is often way above the speed limit (especially going down). This has surely got to be cheaper than trimming the trees which is only done once a year at the moment anyway. Is this do-able?

  • As reported hazardous exiting from Union Way into Tower Hill.A mirror would seem a good idea !

  • Could you please sort this ASAP. Even the grass is now obscuring vision. VERY DANGEROUS

  • Please can you urgently advise when the trees will be trimmed? Its exceptional dangerous pulling out of Union way & Wilkinson place, you literally have to just go and hope for the best! I am currently only turning left as its so dangerous.

  • Nearly had a collision today turning right out of Wilkinson Place! Trees ridiculously overgrown, and people speeding makes this a death trap. Not very nice when you have a child in the car and you are subjected to foul language from a car you’ve just blindly pulled out in front of through no fault of my own.

  • This is getting beyond urgent now... There is going to be a nasty accident or even a fatality any day if this is not addressed. The foliage around the trees on Tower Hill is preventing visibility pulling out of Wilkinson Place & Union Way and is forcing drivers leaving these roads onto Tower Hill to chance it pulling out because they have ZERO visibility left or right. Please escalate this work as a Priority 1.

  • Please fix ASAP before somebody is killed. A mirror opposite Union Way and Wilkinson Place is pretty essential too. What will it take for the council to address this ongoing problem?

    Still open, via questionnaire

  • This problem was reported a month ago and no action has been taken. During that time the growth of the trees has made the problem worse. This is an accident waiting to happen and if it does this thread of messages will leave the Council open to legal challenge. In order to be safe this morning I stood on the other side of Tower Hill to see my wife out of Union Way it is that dangerous. Please make this a priority.
