Dropped tactile footpath
Reported via desktop in the Footways and Pavement damage category anonymously at 12:07, Wed 12 May 2021
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2721368.
The developers Mulberry Homes have constructed a dropped tactile footpath without notification or consultation.
The planning ref 17/01173/OUT from Cherwell does not show any agreement sect 106 or S278 agreement for the construction of this tactile path on the end of the footpath outside the site which terminates at Timber House.
The construction of the tactile dropped pavement means the construction of another one directly opposite and outside my house in an area where I park my car on the highway.
There is no need to direct pedestrians across the road at this point given that there is already this arrangement further up Blackthorn Road towards the crossroads.
I believe there has been no public consultatio on this proposal and would like the dropped footpath removed.

Thank you for reporting your concerns. The tactile paving crossing outside of Timber House has been installed inline with detailed planning consultation discharge 20/00129/DISC and the S278 works are in accordance with the approved drawings, which were agreed during the technical audit stage. The crossing is for the new residents to safely gain access to the existing footways along Blackthorn Road and local facilities in Launton.
