Parking Making Passage for Buses Difficult

Reported via desktop anonymously at 08:53, Fri 7 May 2021

Sent to East Hertfordshire District Council and Hertfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2711392.

Parking restrictions along this bit of road, around the corner from Hertford bus station, means that cars are parked all along here, making passage for buses very difficult. This is especially the case by the pedestrian island, where cars park next to it, making it very difficult for buses and large vehicles going to the construction site to get by. Sometimes these vehicles have to resort to going the wrong way around the island, in order to not damage the cars. This is obviously very dangerous. Many buses serve the bus station before the parking restrictions come in at 8am. Parking restrictions need improving, by making the whole stretch double yellow lines (buses also have to come in by the mini-roundabout, around cars parked on the corners), or extending the restriction times to 6am. Even just making lines by the island double yellows would help a great deal.
