Blocked Road Drain
Reported via iOS in the Blocked Drain / Gully category anonymously at 12:19, Tue 4 May 2021
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2705715.
Over three months has passed since my earlier report on this matter was responded to and the drains remain blocked. These blocked drains result in flooding close to the traffic lights and need clearing. Please escalate and resolve.

Two drains cleared but why not do the other two at this location at the same time. Just bad scheduling/planning/common sense. Still I suppose that’s progress!!!

There are still numerous drains blocked from Ducklington Lane to B&Q westerly along Thorney Leys, all have been reported, why don’t you do them all at the same time!! Pictures have been provided. Thankfully we didn’t get the deluge as forecasted at the weekend otherwise some people would have been flooded out.

No change; still outstanding issue that needs sorting out. Latest comment provided by another party confirms the concern we have.

Still not cleared earthier side of the road…we have been experiencing heavy rain recently and do not want another episode of 2007!! If we flood you are liable!! Weed growing out of every drain…no way water can drain. Please address ASAP xx

These drains have still not been fixed, weed now at least 6 inches tall growing out of them. This is a potential flood area and need sorting ASAP, why is it taking so long??

Still not been auctioned and last report was May…what’s the problem at your end and while you are there do the South side of Thorney Leys between Ducklington Lane and B&Q….drains are now flowering with so much weed in them….need drastic action…Yep and flooding again across the junction. Why are you not addressing this???

I don't think anybody at the council reads your updates. It might be better to raise a new report highlighting the blocked gullies on both Thorney Leys Rd AND Ducklington La, with reference to this report & hope they do a better job next time. It took about a dozen reports to get the deep pothole at the traffic lights repaired, so it is worth persevering. Good luck..
