Ditch between post code homes SO41 0JF & efford farm house SO41 0JD on the same side of the road as home in post code SO41 0JF. Ditch NOT cleaned out for the last 20 YEARS & then the council ask why so much water is on the a337 milford road. Clean the ditch out & see a reduction in surface water on the 60mph road!

Council believe burying their head in the sand will resolve this matter.
I have a PHOTO clearly showing the drains (ditch in this case) has not been done for decades & is STIL a highway DITCH!
If tehy dont do wnything soon, I will petition a magistrate to sezise the land so I CAN do something!

Council has personally viewed the ditch (on west bound carriageway side) & said the ditch is not a problem, yet a 20 year old tree growing in the middle of it does not concern them, neither does a BLOCKED drain pipe for the ditch water run off!
Little wonder teh water is flowing ONTO the main road (60mph milford rd) . Nice to see that highway users being put at risk of serious injury as the water in my view should be IN THE DITCH & the ditch operating properly I should NOT be blocked. Sorry I am being facetious.
If the council cannot be BOTHERED to maintain the roadside ditches to less the water on the road, then they should LOWER speed limit from 60 to 40mph so save lives! rain water is supposed to be flowing from the ROAD INTO THE DITCH & NOT flowing from the ditch ONTO THE ROAD!Posted anonymously at 23:19, Mon 4 February 2013

That's a joke. Asking the council to clean out a COUNCIL highway ditch to stop water going onto the road is like asking the council to do a miracle
could does not believe their eyes when they see the ditch, but then IGNORES the fact the ditch is in need of clearing out!Posted anonymously at 19:03, Tue 2 April 2013

I have maintained this plot of land for 10 years so far as council has ignored their responsiblity to cut the grass verge trim hedges, pick up litter & dig ouyt the ditch. I have been cutting the grass & picking up litter. In 2 years time I will seek an order transfering this land over to my ownership as council has abandoned this land!

council wont even help.
If we get a large rain storm then sadly I believe a car will aqua plane & or skid on ice (in winter) & no sign of the council removing the 20 year old TREES in the DITCH.
I am now going to seek legal advice on seizing this land so I can maintain it MYSELF as the council highways dept clearly do NOT care about road users safety or they would had dug out this HIGHWAY ditch!Posted anonymously at 22:51, Thu 22 August 2013

It is clear that the highways dept in the local council are unable to read & unable to do their job. HIGHWAY DITCHES NEED TO BE CLEAR!
