Appalling litter build up on M42

Reported via mobile in the Litter category anonymously at 09:53, Sunday 11 April 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later

The litter on the M42 between junctions 9 and 11 (on both carriageways) is absolutely appalling. It genuinely feels like you are driving up the approach to a rubbish tip.

Clearly this is the fault of drivers who feel it is acceptable to drop litter from their vehicles, but the onus is on Highways England to monitor litter along the side of the motorways and take action to clear it up. It is clear that nothing has been done to attempt to clear the enormous build up of litter.

What are Highways England doing about this and why is it clearly not being seen as a priority? Numerous reports have been made, yet there is clearly no desire to take action.
