Wall falling down and tree now precarious
Reported via desktop in the Trees category anonymously at 16:20, Friday 9 April 2021
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2662492.
The wall supporting this tree is falling away and is leaving the tree less supported. It’s tricky to see who is responsible for the wall or tree without land registry plans ie private landowner or highways.
Thank you for your enquiry. This issue has been passed onto the relevant team for investigation.

We have visited site and assessed the trees in their location. The trees present are on land not deemed to be part of the publicly maintained highway by OCC in our capacity as local highway authority. The trees present are on land maintainable by an adjacent landowner and not by the County Council. You can access the land registry at: https://www.gov.uk/ search-property-information-land-registry to find details of the adjacent landowner to pursue your enquiry. You are also within your common law rights as a landowner to cut any overhanging vegetation back to the boundary line of your property.
Many thanks for your enquiry.
