Sent to Cheshire East Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 265740.
I hope that you are the right person to contact, if not I would be most grateful if you could pass on my email to the correct person. I feel I really need to bring to your attention what has happened to me, I am so worried it will happen again and I didn’t know who else to contact or how to go about bringing to the attention of the people who use the Co-op in Bollington. On Tuesday 3rd July at approximately 9.10am I pulled up outside the Co- op shop on Albert Road. I parked in the second parking bay along from the front door facing the wall of the shop. I did my shopping and when I came outside there was a really large artic truck alongside the back of my car I thought how close it was to my boot but as the wheels were on the road I didn’t think any more of it. I opened the boot of my Range Rover car and was putting the shopping inside next thing I know the back end of the truck had slammed into the raised part of the boot smashing the glass all over me; I also think part of the truck hit my back. If I’d been more to the left of the boot I would have taken the whole force of the smash and if I’d been closing the boot then I really don’t think I’d be around to tell the story. A few minutes earlier there was a lady with a pram passing exactly where the lorry hit & 15 minutes earlier it was the school run (which doesn’t bare thinking about !!) The driver was on his phone & stopped for a few seconds after hitting me and drove off, there were plenty of witness’s and one lady chased the truck up the street, she says the driver definitely saw her waving frantically at him before driving off !! I have since found out his details which have been passed onto the police (he was from Finland and delivering to Slater Harrison) I have since found out exactly the same thing happened to a lady parked in the same space, the lorry hit the front of her car and luckily no pedestrians. The reason for this email is that I know this WILL happen again and next time there could easily be a fatality. Even though the driver was obviously not concentrating and on his phone his wheels were on the road which means that the big trucks going down Albert Road are too big for the roads. If this is not something that you would deal with I’d be most grateful if you could tell me who I need to contact to try & stop it happening again. I look forward to your reply. Regards
Tara Worthington

I have had a letter from a councilor saying they are looking at the problem and that the Co-op may be moving to a safer site
