Manhole cover broken/collapsed - pit drop to open piple

Reported via desktop in the Parks/landscapes category anonymously at 19:05, Sunday 28 March 2021

Sent to Oxford City Council less than a minute later

A manhole cover in Headington Hill Park is smashed. Danger as a hole direct into drain pipe. Exact position as pinned - from car park go along the bottom tarmac path then turn right 200 m into grass area of park when you are near three sapling trees - just up from the high evergreen hedge at the bottom of the park. Someone has covered the manhole with logs for safety, but these could fall in the drain. Needs fixing urgently.

  • We have replaced the manhole cover with a new unit. The Heras fencing is still up in the park while the concrete goes off but we will remove it in a week or so when it’s safe.
