Dangerous pavement flagstone

Reported via iOS in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 17:47, Wed 24 March 2021

Sent to Kent County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2631511.

There is one flagstone in particular which is very large and has broken in two, there is no earth underneath and when you tread on it it tips up. This is the worst one but the whole of this pavement has several other stones that are broken and not safe.

I would like to suggest that as this is a regular problem due to delivery lorrys parking half on half off the pavement it might be sensible to put a couple more bollards on the edge of the pavement to prevent this happening in the future and thereby saving highways money. There is one bollard at present on the corner of new street and no name street which quite often gets knocked by said lorrys. The stree is very shirt and would only need 3 bollards to accomplish this.

Thanking you in anticipation of a repair/prevention with bollards.

Updates

  • This could cause someone to trip and or fall and sustain a serious injury, please bear in mind sandwich has a large proportion of elderly residents.

This is the pavement in No name Street, NOT Cattle Market as it seems to come up when I look.

Still think bollards would be a good idea as this is a VERY LONG ongoing problem with lorrys and other vehicles parking half on half off the pavement.
