Mud from Catalyst Homes site

Reported via desktop in the Street cleaning category anonymously at 13:26, Mon 22 March 2021

Sent to South Oxfordshire District Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2625824.

The Catalyst building site at Newman Place is creating a serious amount of mud and silt on the road as all their trucks have to turn right along Sandford road to the A4074. They are street cleaning Armstrong road regularly but are not cleaning past the junction lights onto Sandford road. Sandford road is very dusty and muddy, the mud build up is getting considerable down the sides of the road. Mud has blocked the top two drains and covered the crossing. The road camber means the mud and silt has run all the way down into Sandford village as far as the turning to the VOCO hotel.

The site should really be cleaning further down along the Sandford road. Surely they should have to take more responsibility for the mud from their site, cleaning the tiny section of road when all their trucks are using Sandford road is meaning the road into Sandford is in a real state. This issue has been going on since January 2021.

Updates

  • Catalyst Homes are still leaving a lot of dirt on the road all the way into Sandford. They only bother to clean up to the traffic lights. It's really poor.
