Top section of wooden handrail loose on steep steps to public footpath

Reported via desktop anonymously at 17:07, Mon 15 March 2021

Sent to Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council and Leicestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2610563.

The uprights holding the wooden handrail are loose in the ground and the handrail gives way when you put your hand on it. It is the section at the top of a flight of steep steps leading from Cadeby Lane (a 60mph lane with no pavement) to a public footpath which crosses an open field to the A447, as indicated by the green dashed line on the map. It is regularly and well used by dog walkers and hikers. The handrail is extremely dangerous. I do not know how long it has been in this condition.
