There is a street lamp between houses 8 and 9. A tree grows in the garden of number 8 such that it prevents the street lamp from illuminating the narrowish pavement in front of house 8. I appreciate we are approaching the time of year with the longest days, however, on non-moonlit nights, the shadow is very dark. This is a particular concern on a night before recycling collection day. I think the tree merely needs clipping away from the street lamp to rectify the problem. Many thanks.

The (cypress) tree has been reduced in height, so that it is more like a high hedge now, and the street lamp is in free space. The height of the lamp may clear the width of the cypress, so that little shadow is now cast, but I have not passed after dark since the reduction in height to know.

The tree is no longer there, so the difficulty will no longer exist. Thanks.
