The 40MPH signs are mostly hidden and not big enough on Kanes Hill and West End Road

Updates

  • Although a Residential Area 40MPH sign has been put up at either end of Kanes Hill we are still subjected to Gross speeding. A Mobile speed camera has been in the lay bye at odd times it is at night especially when the M27 Motorway is closed and the diverted traffic including HGV are doing well over the 40MPH limit. This is when we need some sort of enforcement before something bad happens.

  • Although you have replied to this problem you have missed the point that the signs are not ALL visible as in that driving they are some hidden by trees and hedges redering them useless as signs.

  • We have since leant that as Kanes Hill is used for the M27 diversion while the smart motorway is built the speed restriction should be 30mph in a residential area. Indeed we have this in Moorhill Road which is 40 mph but now has massive in your face 30 mph signs because it is a residential area and on a diversion route. So why not Kanes Hill ? Or is it he who shouts load enough or who you know ?
