Reported via desktop in the Potholes category anonymously at 09:02, Wed 3 March 2021

Sent to Kent County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2583592.

This large, dangerous pothole is hard to avoid as it encroaches the narrow lane and sinks right down. There are others along the same lane outside our house known as Little Hammill, Chalk Pit Lane leading up from the Hammill Road to the top of the hill.

Updates

  • The highways van turned up and basically threw in a few shovelfulls of tarmac without levelling it or filling in the pothole properly. Within a week it had sunk right down so basically the hole is back as it was. They are hopeless! They sit in their truck for half an hour before they start doing anything and talk about slap dash work. If they did it properly to start with the lane would be ok to drive along but as it is now the wheels sink right down.
