This area has been used constantly for fly tipping over the last 3 years and the problem has increased a hundredfold since the Covid situation.

Reported via desktop in the Flytipping category anonymously at 13:43, Fri 26 February 2021

Sent to Stockport Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2573840.

Men in white vans drive up and down the cul de sac at speed, on a weekly basis. Dump bags of asbestos and all sorts at the bottom of the road near number 42. This is a hazardous situation which is worsening. We have put up with this throughout the Covid situation. The elderly gentleman at no 42 sadly passed away a few months ago , so the house is empty. It has become more of a problem since then. Also the man who is building the flats on the land, and hasn't done any work on them for 2 years, has broken down panels and metal barriers all over the place. The place looks like a dump site, and has become one. It is outrageous that the people living on Moseley road have had to live under these conditions for this long. Just spoken to the flat man, who says he agrees to put a gate across the entrance of no 42, if the present owner agrees to it. That is what I have already requested from Snapes to put forward to the owner, who is trying to sell the property, and to the Police when I reported the ongoing situation, when my car was stolen and my house burgled on 28/12/20. Can you please intervene on behalf of the residents of Moseley road. We all have children and pets, who are at risk as a result of this situation.

Updates

  • Most but not all the rubbish has been cleared by the man building the flats. He brought two skips. The area is still wide open so there is no reason to believe that the fly tipping will stop.
