Extremly dangerous footpath caused by water near wooden bridge

Reported via desktop in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 16:33, Thu 18 February 2021

Sent to Leicestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2555473.

The footpath either side of the recently installed wooden bridge over the brook, is extremely dangerous caused by the recent floods making the pathway to hold water and either side of the path is very dangerously slippy. This is becoming worse by the amount of people taking exercise lately due to Covid, it requires a small drainage channel digging to help the water run off and make this safe for anyone taking exercise. Today there was an incident where someone slipped and hurt themselves quite badly. Luckily there was someone to help the gentleman up to his feet, witch was a struggle for both concerned. Could this matter be addresses as a matter of urgency before some is severely injured ?

Updates

  • This path is still very dangerous because of the increase in surface water when it's been raining, making it extremely dangerous for pedestrian traffic.

  • This issue has not been sorted out. It should be looked at now because when it rains, as we have heavy down pours recently it floods and makes the path extremely dangerous.

  • This issue has not been addressed, now is the time to look at this and make alterations to the pathway. Before we know it winter will be upon us and the path will again be extremely dangerous. Can the relevant body please act now before someone really hurts themselves using this walkway.

  • This is an ongoing issue, I'm afraid it will not be addressed until someone is injured.
