Parking on grass verge - mud tracks & visibility problems
Reported via desktop in the Car parking category anonymously at 11:11, Tue 16 February 2021
Sent to Leicester City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2549102.
Cars and vans are repeatedly parking on grass verges on Whitehall Road, creating mud tracks and affecting visibility for local residents. I understand that this is against the bylaws.
A simple solution would be to plant some small trees along these grass verges the same as Susan Avenue (nearby road)

Reported problem to both Mayor's office and traffic enforcement, awaiting a response to this complaint. There is an environmental effective solution to this parking problem on grass verges, which is to plant slow-growing trees on those verges to deter illegal parking. This idea has been put to the council. Awaiting a reply.

No action taken by council despite complaints to councillor and mayor. An elegant, environmentally friendly solution that has been suggested is to plant slow growing trees on these verges (just like adjacent road - Susan Avenue) but not met with any enthusiasm. Parking on verges is against the Bylaws but relevant department needs to investigate it.
