As one pothole is on the edge of the road and one in the middle, there is no way of avoiding one or the other of them. When cars go through the pothole by the edge, they kick up water and stones - our cottage is a 500 year old listed building and so is very complicated if a window gets broken. To maintain 2m social distancing, people are having to walk in the road - I saw one lady twist an ankle in the pothole. The pothole at the side of the road has been there, on and off, for several years. It gets filled in with a bucket of tarmac but reappears. It has now been there for several months and is getting larger.
