As you enter Boxhill Nature Reserve from The Motte, there is a new extension to a building on the right. Ever since this has been constructed there is uncontrolled run-off across the footpath in the reserve, during wet weather. This has caused problems when there is ice and makes it difficult to pass and it also creates boggy areas around the footpath. Please can you check if this new extension has the correct sized soakaway for their surface water run-off? Also, the shallow bridged area further into the wood on the left has perished, can this be earmarked for repair please. Thank you.

I work in Building Control for Vale Council. I was asked to inspect the area to establish whether the extension built at no. 47 The Motte was the cause of water on the path. There is no visible pipe discharging and the plans show compliance with the Building Regulations.

I passed a couple of days ago and can confirm that it is very boggy either side of the path. I think it's reasonable to assume that there's a leaking pipe or something because it had been dry for days leading up to the day I passed.
