Impassable footpath
Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2468435.
South end of Hart Hill restricted byway. Part of Solent Way This photo was taken last week. Since then the water has receded but the deep mud left makes it impassable. Water ingress is from field and quarry. On the left of the photo drainage is partly obstructed by work carried out by landowner.

For your information this always floods when it rains and always has done. People usually climb over the fence in to the horse field walk through and out through the fence on the corner, breaking the fencing and putting them selves in danger from live stock.

To "anon". If this is the case have you previously reported it? As well as danger from the livestock there is danger to the livestock who can get on to Fawley Road. There is natural drainage to the stream running down to the mere but this has been obstructed by a bank created on the east side.

You can clearly see in your photo the broken wooden rail fence and the non existent hedge leaving just the barb wire fence proving long term path deviation of people trying to avoid the water, a matching gap is a bit further along where people get out of the field. Completely agree with the potential of escaped live stock. (animals and patrons) I’ve reported it but nothing ever gets done.....is it Hampshire Highway’s or Esso or Forestry England responsible for digging / removing the bank that prevents the waters natural runoff. I am lead to believe the bank was dug to stop motor cycles getting in to the pits but unsure how accurate that is.
