Flooding caused by out of date and failing drainage system

Reported via desktop anonymously at 09:27, Tue 5 January 2021

Sent to Mid Suffolk District Council and Suffolk County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2461862.

The drain pipe from the drainage ditches to the main culvert is broken in many places ( clay pipe ) The drainage pipe is of insufficient bore to cope with flow from drainage ditches. The main culvert is made of red brick and is disintegrating. The culvert cannot cope with the volume of the numerous ditches/pipes that feed into it causing flooding to the road and adjacent property wall. After the recent flooding on the 23rd this caused water to be well above the height of the water treatment outlet from the water treatment plant. This problem was flagged last year but no work has been done to rectify the various problems.
