Ruined pathway where bus shelter was removed (south side of road)

Reported via desktop in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 14:00, Mon 14 December 2020

Sent to East Lothian Council less than a minute later

The damaged bus shelter on the south side of Lochend Road, just past Lochend Avenue, was completely removed months and months ago. However the path was never repaired where it was removed and the pathway there is uneven, broken, bumpy and not safe. A smattering of gravel was thrown in the massive holes made but the gravel doesn't even cover the holes fully. There are 4 holes in total and 2 in particular are massive - there is barely room between the hole itself and the grass verge to pass by. A wheelchair can definitely not pass. My son's bike, with stablisers, cannot pass. This a route to school for so many children in the area and the uneven pathway means that sometimes the bikes are off balance and near the traffic on the road itself. A serious accident waiting to happen. Please help.

Updates

  • This problem is not fixed, and although not travelling to school each day with lockdown and schools closed, we still want to get out for exercise every day on the bikes and this issue is still a massive concern and issue for all kids, bicycles, and wheelchairs.
