Temporary diversion of Greenway not suitable

Reported via desktop in the Rights of way category anonymously at 15:31, Tue 1 December 2020

Sent to Warwickshire County Council less than a minute later

The temporary diversion of the Kenilworth Greenway towards Red Lane near the approach to Cromwell Lane has been created with bark chippings. With the heavy pedestrian/cycle/horse usage of this pathway accompanied by the now regular wet weather, this area has become unsafe and unusable as it is more than ankle deep in wet boggy mud. Reported to HS2 but they just fobbed me off with "the condition is being monitored".

Updates

  • It looks like the HS2 contractors are now working on the 4th version of this now and still not finished. Why they did not get this ready before closing the original route beggars belief. One man working on his own with a shovel and wheelbarrow could have completed this simple job quicker.
