Flooding on Downfield Road Hertford Heath

Reported via desktop by Sandra Arnold at 20:47, Wed 18 November 2020

Sent to East Hertfordshire District Council and Hertfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2394848.

Flooding on Downfield Road mostly outside number73.Since the house has been extensively renovated the road has been continually flooded after heavy rain. The ditch that used to run there has been filled in. Water runs off the fields making it worse. The drainage system needs sorting out. The resent resurfacing work has been a complete waste of time and money and potholes are reappearing as the tarmac has been washed away. There is also flooding at the bottom of the road where water runs off the field there are no drains or gullies to drain the water away

Updates

  • I agree. The drainage is shocking on Downfield Rd causing floods outside 73. There’s also a lot of mud on the road, plus cars parked in the road on the bend from 71-73 which has caused several near misses - it’s an accident waiting to happen.
