Significant Drainage problem on the main road Winchester Road

Reported via mobile in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 11:05, Sat 14 November 2020

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2386915.

Every time it rains Winchester Road becomes a river and the water is not dealt with by the drains on the road. The drains overflow and the entire roads surface water (a significant amount of very fast flowing water) floods mine and my neighbours drive ways and due to volume of water it is flooding our properties. I reported this a few weeks ago and somebody came out to look at one of the drains but it doesn’t appear that they have done anything. We went and unblocked several drains on the road of leaves and managed to try to divert the water back onto the road. We have bailed out our garden with buckets but if we shouldn’t have to be here to do this every time it rains. The drainage strategy on the road needs significant intervention, it’s totally unacceptable that this volume of water is flowing off the road and into our gardens and properties.
