Abandoned shopping trolleys

Reported in the Road or pavement obstruction category anonymously at 13:30, Tue 6 March 2012

Sent to Merton 5 minutes later

At the foot of the stairs leading up from the taxi rank to the entrance to Wimbledon Station, there is often a shopping trolley, blocking part of the way. Sometimes Marks & Spencers, sometimes Tesco. Today there were two Tesco ones, blocking almost half the width at the bottom of the stairs.

Can you please remove them, and speak to the many local supermarkets reminding them of any obligations they might have to ensure their trolleys don't end up abandoned in the streets. Also perhaps speak with the Station staff about keeping their areas clean and clear of obstructions.

  • Those two trolleys were removed, but I think I saw another one last night. In other words it's a repetitive problem; I don't know the solution.
