Blocked Surface Water Drains causing localised flooding

Reported via mobile in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 12:02, Sunday 25 October 2020

Sent to Norfolk County Council less than a minute later

There has been no kerb cleaning done in the village resulting in a large build up of debris in the roadside and blocking the surface water drains. Flooding occurs during rainfall causing severe risks to safety of Drivers and Cyclists. Urgent action is needed. The photo is a typical drain cover, pictured outside the Primary School but other drains are similarly affected.

Updates

  • About one week after reporting the issue, the Gutter Cleaning Lorry was seen in the village cleaning all the gutters. Hopefully, regular cleaning will resume to stop the surface water drains blocking up again
