Sat nav error

Reported anonymously at 20:48, Thu 1 March 2012

Sent to West Berkshire Council 2 minutes later

Satnav systems direct people to the wrong road which is a lane backing on to a neighbour's garden called Three Gables Lane. This was a problem when we recently called an ambulance to our property in RG89LB (marked), and the worry is that it could happen again and there may be a fatality. Is there anything that can be done about it?

  • SS5 4JD The Sat Nav directions take you down Mount Bovers Lane which is a restricted by for use by residents only. Belchamps Scout Activity Centre is based as SS5 4JD and so lots of extra coaches and vehicles drive down Mount Bovers lane which is illegal. It should take them down Poplars Avenue and along Woodside Chase.

  • Regal Lane NW1 is NOT as through road as shown on some maps. It is a dead-end private road.

  • Concerning post code B90 8AJ. It is not permitted to gain general entrance to the Blythe Valley Business Park from Kineton Lane except for buses. The end of Central Boulevard within the business park would better be regarded as a cul-de-sac and then sat nav systems would bring visitors into the business park from junction 4 of the M42.

  • Ch6 6jn is a small street with access only for deliverys on by lorrys. Everyday we have artics coming down our street. Some getting stuck which then have to reverse back which is not easy. The 90 degree turn at the bottom also causes problems as some lorrys can not get round it. The route needs changing to take them straight through our village. Not cut down ch6 6jn.

  • Sat nav is incorrectly directing traffic via Bramley to access RG26 5DP when can be accessed via Chineham to south

  • The Satnav sends people to Oaten hill place rather than Oaten hill. This is very annoying! Please can you make sure that Ct13hz is corrected?

  • Traffic is continually being directed along Small Lane towards Cawthorne. This is a bridle way and unsuitable for vehicles. Better to direct through Silkstone village.

  • People with Sat Navs are being directed into our garden at Mundole Farm, Forres when they are trying to get to Riverview Caravan Park. Can this be corrected. We are fed up with Hgvs, delivery vans and B&B people turning around at all hours of day and night and damaging our flowerbeds. None of them ever look at a map, most seem unable to read one!

  • Shawl terrace, Dl85da is a cul de sac. The lane at the top, love Lane, is not a road. It is a footpath and there is no vehicle access.

  • GU25 4EA is near Virginia Water. Satnav should not take people to M3 if from London Heathrow. The correct way is to get off at J13 on M25.

  • Access to Stewart Court Stewart Street West Calder EH55 8EZ is via Dickson Street West Calder NOT from Hartwood Road EH55 8DG. Please can you correct as we have ambulances, deliveries and carers all entering our untreated road

  • Everyone gets lost trying to find my house as satnav information isn't right. EH510NL ladywell view is in a square with top edge on viewpark Road (1-9) the turning into ladywell view is classed only as antonine Court which is on the other side of the road. 10-12 ladywell view is on the road listed as antonine Court and then turn right into what is classed as ladywell view to find 13-19 LWV. It would be helpful to have both ladywell view and antonine Court mentioned or have 1-9 LWV shown as being on viewpark Road.
