No Parking Lines

Reported via desktop in the Car parking category by Paul Jackson at 17:19, Thu 22 October 2020 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to West Oxfordshire District Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2353130.

We are on a new site of 5 houses (Graces Court) and it is very dangerous getting to the main road (The Slade) especially at school times and on a tuesday when the rubbish bins have been placed on the pavement obscuring the road view from Charlbury. It is an accident waiting to happen!! On doing some research I understand that Planning Officers anticipated the problem and specified double yellow lines either side of the junction but this has not happened. Additionally the Refuse contractors should be told to keep the pavement clear, there is not only a view problem but also mothers with children have to step into the road to/from the school nearby. There is also a lack of road signs to Graces Court and The Slade 28 to 34 which also causes hesitation in a high risk area. Please investigate.

  • As a fellow resident on The Slade I can confirm this is a problem, having myself been in a couple of near misses whilst trying to pull out. It can be impossible to see to the left or right when pulling out when cars are parked near to the entrance. This is particularly a problem on Tuesdays (Bin collection day) and school start/end as is very busy then. I fear it will not be long until there is an accident.
