Speeding and One Way System - Kineton Road

Reported via desktop in the Road signs category anonymously at 10:19, Wed 21 October 2020

Sent to Warwickshire County Council less than a minute later

There have been 3 accidents of people crashing into road signs/telephone poles on the junction by Kineton Road. I can't recall the specific time period, but I have only lived here 3 years, and the last 2 accidents happened within the last 12 months. The first was someone driving over the one way junction and crashing into the no right turn sign. The second was someone again going over the junction and crashing into the telephone pole which subsequently hit someone’s house. The third was in August where police were called as they crashed at great speed into the no entry sign and went the wrong way down the one way section of the Kineton road. Since working from home I have become more aware of constant beeping and brake noises, where people travel too fast down the Kineton road before realising they need to stop at the junction. Further exasperated by individuals driving the wrong way round the one way system. I can’t even count on both hands how many times this has happened since I have lived here. At night, the cars race down the Kineton road. This road is right near a school. This road is right near a doctors. There could be young or vulnerable people nearby and I just want to report the speeding issues down this road before it’s too late and someone gets hurt. There needs also to be clearer signage for both the speed limit and the one way system. I think the village has been very lucky there hasn’t been a more serious accident in this area involving vehicles or people.
