Rocking Manhole Cover

On the eastern section of the crossroads between Montpelier Road and Western Road, a manhole cover is losing it's seating. It appears as though repair works to the frame and surround has failed, and is progressively worsening. It is producing a loud knocking whenever it is trafficked, which is becoming louder each week. It is assumed to be close to failure, which would create a significant impact on traffic to repair. The issue has become worse over the previous few months, starting before summer 2020.

Updates

This has become seriously worse since first reported. The noise level has become unacceptable especially at night when vehicles drive over it.
