Bins left on pavements

Reported via desktop in the Flytipping category anonymously at 23:58, Mon 19 October 2020

Sent to Oxford City Council less than a minute later

These bins have now been on the pavement for about two years. I first complained that it is difficult to walk on the pavements here as the bins block the pavements and there are cars parked on the road and also on pavements. Now a new larger bin has also appeared about 6 months ago. At least 3 out of 4 do not belong to anyone and have been left outside for months and years. This is now the 5th time I am requesting this to be sorted in writing and I have additionally spoken to the council at some fair and in person to a council staff. Please do not shrug this off and say it is not your responsibility, but the should is thee responsibility of Oxford Direct Services. I pay my council tax to you, and not to Oxford direct services. Therefore, I should be able to request you to clean up the pavements if I and other people (especially those who are disabled and with prams and children) are unable to walk on the pavement easily. Please could these bins be removed. Thank you.

  • Partially resolved. This been has been left outsside for over a year. People dump all sorts of rubbish in it and the recycling refuses to take it away. PLEASE COULD ALL BINS LEFT ON PAVEMENTS FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME BE REMOVED.
