Gravel spill On highway

Reported via mobile in the Street cleaning category anonymously at 14:57, Friday 16 October 2020 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to South Oxfordshire District Council less than a minute later

Gravel has been spilt in the road at this (and the other side of the roundabout) . These stones obviously present a significant danger to motorists and other road users. This seems to be a frequent problem (I have seen this occurring for at least 6 months) that is probably caused by frequent hgv lorries exiting the Hanson aggregate depot on this roundabout. Perhaps they should be informed as there may be faults with the trailers or they may be overloaded ?

Updates

  • Note: This is concrete spilt from premix concrete lorries that are overfilled, spilling wet concrete onto the road at junctions as they attempt to pull away (the rotation of the drum spills the excessive concrete onto the road). The same spills can be seen at the junction of the A4130 and B4016 on Ladygrove and the junction of Tolgate Road the A415 in Culham.
