Drain in road is totally blocked and road is flooding.

Sent to West Sussex County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2321914.

This drain is located outside No.37 Rugby Road, Worthing on the south side. Silt, leaves and soil over the years has built up and totally blocked the drain. When it rains the water does not penetrate the grate and down the drain yet forms a small lake at the end of the street adjoining West Avenue, Worthing. It has not been cleaned for a very long time.

Updates

  • The drain outside my home has been blocked solid now for quite a few months is causing further problems to the east of my road with the junction of Grand Ave. So much so, when it rains hard, there is a large concentration of water forming, some 4 or 5 inches deep. Emails and phone calls to West Sussex Highways go unheeded!
